Yokohama:Thailand plans to highlight its agricultural prowess at the GREEN×EXPO 2027, an A1-level international horticultural exhibition in Yokohama, Japan. The event, scheduled from March 19 to September 26, 2027, will provide a platform for Thailand to present its "Thailand Pavilion" under the theme "Collaboration with Nature Caring for Life, Cultivating the Future."
According to Thai News Agency, the Thailand Pavilion aims to share the rich narrative of Thai agriculture, encompassing land, farmers, food, horticulture, herbs, and technology. This event will allow Thailand to demonstrate its capabilities in producing high-quality food and agricultural products while integrating local wisdom with modern technology and innovation.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Ms. Piyarat Tiyapairat, emphasized the significance of this participation, stating that the pavilion will not only display products but also convey the story behind Thai agriculture. This includes the role of Young Smart Farmers in modernizing the sector and addressing global challenges such as climate change and food security.
The "Living Exhibition" at the pavilion will blend Thai identity with advanced agricultural technology and innovation, using elements inspired by Thai painting and the natural cycle of flowers. The architectural design will guide visitors through a harmonious journey, reflecting the sustainable practices and biodiversity of Thai agriculture.
Additionally, the pavilion will symbolize the longstanding friendship between Thailand and Japan, coinciding with the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Special events will celebrate this milestone, featuring cultural activities and festivals throughout the exhibition period.
The participation in GREEN×EXPO 2027 is seen as an opportunity to open doors for Thai products, farmers, and entrepreneurs, building networks for cooperation in agricultural technology and innovation. This initiative is also a preparation for Thailand's hosting of the Nakhon Ratchasima International Horticultural Expo in 2029.
