Thailand National Futsal Team Secures 3rd Place with 4-0 Victory Over Australia in 2024 ASEAN Futsal Championship.

Korat: Thailand's national futsal team, known as "Changsuk Futsal," claimed third place in the 2024 ASEAN Futsal Championship following a decisive 4-0 victory against Australia. The match was held at the Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Mall, where Thailand, a 16-time champion, faced off against Australia, a four-time runner-up. According to Thai News Agency, the Thai team, under the guidance of Spanish head coach Miguel Rodrigo, fielded a starting lineup that included goalkeeper and team captain Natthaphong Yeemaherb, alongside Thiraphat Muensri, Thanachot Saosaewang, Athipong Munplai, and Thanawat Kerdbangrachan. The match saw an early lead in the 6th minute when Ammarin Ekaphan set up Peerapat Kaewwilai for the opening goal. Thanawat Kerdbangrachan extended the lead to 2-0 in the 17th minute and secured his second goal just two minutes later, bringing the score to 3-0 by halftime. In the second half, Ammarin Ekaphan sealed the victory with a goal in the 36th minute, ensuring a 4-0 win for Thailand. Following t he match, coach Miguel Rodrigo expressed satisfaction with the performance, commending the young players for their determination and predicting a bright future for the team. On the opposing side, Australian coach Mike Downie acknowledged the defeat and praised Thailand's performance. He noted that his team gave their best effort and emphasized the need for further development in preparation for future competitions.
