According to Thai News Agency, Air Chief Marshal Praphas Sonjaidee, Director of the Joint Press Center on the Thai-Cambodian Situation, revealed that despite the dissolution of parliament on December 11th, the government continues to perform its duties and retains full authority to maintain national security under the law. This is to ensure the continued protection of Thai citizens. He also emphasized that the border situation remains tense due to Cambodia's incursions and initial attacks in several areas. Therefore, the Thai military is exercising its right to self-defense under Thai and international law, aiming solely to end the threat to citizens' lives and preserve national sovereignty. The government and the military affirm that they continue to command and operate under their full legal authority. Martial law in border areas is in effect under Thai security laws to decisively and legitimately protect Thai territory and ensure the peace and security of the Thai people.
Colonel Richa Suksuwanon, Deputy Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Army, updated the latest situation, confirming that as of 6:30 AM, Cambodia is still encroaching on Thailand's territory. He stated that green markers have been placed at points where Thai troops can now control the situation, specifically in the Sam Tae area, where Cambodian bases are located, as well as at Chong Chom, Chong Preo, Chong Rayi, and Ban Nong Ya Kaeo.
The areas marked in orange represent partially controlled locations where continued attempts to encroach on sovereignty are being made, namely Chong An Ma, Chong Khana (Prasat Khana), and Prasat Ta Kwai. These areas have garnered significant public attention because, despite the destruction of numerous attacks and surrounding military bases, the challenging terrain continues to hinder Thai troops' efforts to regain control of the area.
Similarly, in the area of Ban Khlong Phaeng, Ta Phraya District, on the 9th, images showed Thai soldiers singing the national anthem, but in the middle of the night, Cambodia used BM21 grenades, injuring Thai soldiers. This necessitated a reassessment of troop deployments. Cambodian soldiers then attempted to take down the Thai flag, and Thai troops are currently regaining control of the area.
As of December 11th, the Cambodian side suffered losses of at least 9 armored vehicles (tank), 68 drones, 1 anti-drone system, 3 communication towers, and 1 BM-21 system. 165 Cambodian soldiers were killed, and it was confirmed that no Cambodian civilians were killed.
