Chiang Mai: Doi Inthanon this morning recorded a temperature of only 6 degrees Celsius, marking it as the lowest of the year. Tourists flocked to the site from early morning, eager to witness the first light of the day. In Loei Province, visitors gathered to experience the sea of fog at Phu I Lert and enjoy the sunrise. According to Thai News Agency, the air at the top of Doi Inthanon in Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai Province, was exceptionally cold this morning, with the temperature registering at just 6 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the Kiew Mae Pan viewpoint recorded a temperature of 8 degrees Celsius. Tourists have been arriving from early morning to catch the sunrise. It is anticipated that temperatures will continue to fall until the end of the year, raising the prospect of frost, which last occurred in late November 2023. In Loei Province, temperatures are steadily declining. The mornings are characterized by cold weather and dense fog, particularly prevalent on mountaintops and in national parks. Th e sea of fog is a common sight in areas such as Phu I Lert, within the Pak Man Subdistrict of Dan Sai District. Tourists are drawn to experience the fog and welcome the new day's first light. The location is often referred to as the Grand Canyon of Thailand due to its unique viewpoint for observing the fog, which moves beautifully along the mountain range, offering views of Dan Sai city and extending to the border of Laos.
