Bangkok: Teenagers brazenly rode motorcycles, firing guns and throwing bottles at a rival's house, causing fear among residents who worried about being caught in the crossfire. They urged authorities to crack down and arrest the perpetrators, fearing the situation would escalate.
According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage reveals the moment a group of teenagers on more than six motorcycles drove past a house in Moo 4, Ban Phra Subdistrict, Mueang Prachinburi District, before one of them pulled out a gun and fired into the house. The incident occurred at 3:56 AM on August 12th.
In another incident on September 6, 2026, at 1:34 AM, CCTV footage showed two teenagers riding a motorcycle to the same house before throwing a beer bottle inside. The bottle shattered with a loud noise. They were seen shouting insults and challenging each other before fleeing on their motorcycle.
Reporters visiting the scene found a raised wooden house where more than eight teenagers and students were living. Broken beer bottles were scattered around the front of the house. Neighboring houses were inhabited by children and elderly people, causing fear among residents who worried about being caught in the crossfire.
Mr. Trithep Wisutthiauthaikul, the village headman of Moo 4, revealed that the house in question is a rental property. Previously, a group of teenagers residing there often gathered in front of the house. Then, on August 12th, a rival group of teenagers rode motorcycles and fired shots at the house. After the incident, he warned the teenagers, instructing them not to gather in groups and threatening them with eviction if the incidents repeated. Following this, the teenagers stopped gathering and resumed their normal lives. However, the rival group continued to cause trouble, firing shots and throwing bottles at the house repeatedly, until last night when the incident occurred again.
The village headman also stated that the group of teenagers who committed the crime have caused trouble in several areas, including the area around Wat Ban Phra, and had previously engaged in an incident where they used firearms to shoot at villagers. Initially, they are preparing to coordinate with the police to investigate and take legal action, acknowledging that most of the perpetrators are minors.
The owner of the adjacent house revealed that they did not hear anything during the incident last night, but upon checking their CCTV footage, they found images of teenagers riding motorcycles and throwing bottles at the house. They also mentioned that a gunshot incident had occurred there previously. Their house has children and elderly residents, and their child's bedroom is near the house where the incident took place. They and other residents are fearful of further violence and the possibility of innocent bystanders being injured. They are urging the police and relevant authorities to increase patrols against groups of teenagers, especially during nighttime hours and on Friday and Saturday nights, to prevent the situation from escalating.
