Bangkok: The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has issued a stern warning against the dissemination of distorted information regarding the 33rd SEA Games. The SAT spokesperson outlined guidelines concerning the publication of false information on social media, emphasizing that legal action will be pursued against those involved, encompassing disciplinary, civil, and criminal proceedings.
According to Thai News Agency, the SAT is prepared to address the spread of false and misleading information on social media about its role and responsibilities in organizing the SEA Games, which Thailand is set to host. While the SAT welcomes constructive and honest criticism and is open to making improvements to meet international standards, it is taking a firm stance against misinformation.
The SAT has clarified that any criticism or commentary that relies on false information, distorts facts, or contains defamatory content could harm the organization's reputation and affect the morale of its employees and officials. Consequently, the SAT is committed to taking legal measures to protect its honor and dignity, ensuring that those who engage in such activities face appropriate disciplinary, civil, and criminal actions.
