Bangkok: 'Father's Day' invites dads to enjoy music in the park with royal compositions and Father's songs. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) invites children to take their fathers to the "Music in the Park: HM Song, MHESI Plays Father's Song" event nationwide from December 5-7, celebrating National Father's Day.
According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) is hosting the event to honor the Father of the Land, King Rama IX, renowned for his musical genius. This event also commemorates Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and honors His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua. Now in its fifth year, the event continues the legacy of Father's songs, transforming a park in the Banthat Thong area into a stage for performances of treasured songs composed by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, while also showcasing technological and innovative advancements in music.
Ms. Waraporn Rungtrakarn, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), emphasized that December 5th marks the birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, as well as National Day and Father's Day. The event, organized by MHESI, will take place nationwide, including Bangkok and other provinces, through collaborations with local higher education institutions and various partners.
In Bangkok, the event will be held at Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park from December 5-7, 2025, between 5:30 PM and 9:00 PM. Musical performances honoring His Majesty will be presented by nine higher education institutions under MHESI, including Kasetsart University and Mahidol University, among others.
Additional highlights include a Khon performance titled "Nang Loi" by Rattanakosin University of Technology, a 500-drone performance titled "Father's Melody in Lights," and an exhibition honoring His Majesty the King by various scientific and technological organizations. Workshops and booths will also be available from agencies under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
On December 5th, at 6:00 PM, attendees nationwide will join in singing the national anthem, royal anthem, royal hymn, and the royal composition "Our Land," to honor and express gratitude for His Majesty's kindness toward all Thai people.
