Social Security Office Enhances e-Self Service System with ThaiD Integration

Bangkok: The Social Security Office has announced the development of an e-Self Service system that is now linked to ThaiD, a government digital identity verification system, to enhance the protection of insured persons' data. Ms. Kanjana Poolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, revealed that this upgrade requires identity verification through the ThaiD application for accessing the system.

According to Thai News Agency, users who had a username and password for the e-Self Service system before April 2, 2026, will no longer be able to use their old login credentials. They must now access the system exclusively via the ThaiD application. Users who have not registered their identity through ThaiD must first download and register with the application. Those who have already done so can log in immediately using ThaiD.

Additionally, new users of the e-Self Service system must register and log in through the ThaiD application. Users accessing the service via the "Government" application are required to use the ThaiD application for their initial login. Subsequent access to the Social Security Office's e-Self Service system can be made through the Services menu.

The Social Security Office acknowledges the technology access challenges faced by certain groups, such as the elderly, people with disabilities, and those unfamiliar with using applications. The office is considering developing alternative identity verification methods to ensure equal access. Collaboration with the Digital Government Development Agency will continue to enhance the system's efficiency and comprehensiveness.

The Secretary-General further stated that insured persons can register for the ThaiD application by downloading it on iOS or Android devices, selecting the 'Self-Register' menu, and following the identity verification steps. If self-verification is not possible, individuals can complete the process at a district or municipality office using their national ID card. The e-Self Service system is designed to facilitate the application for various benefits, offering a convenient, 24-hour access that eliminates the need for in-person visits to the office.
