Sisaket: The Election Commission and the Governor of Sisaket are implementing measures to manage potential emergencies on the Thai-Cambodian border ahead of the Constituency 5 election. They are encouraging eligible voters to participate in the election on September 28th, as a tribute to the dignity of Sisaket residents.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ekrirk Promchai-anan, Director of the Sisaket Provincial Election Commission Office, highlighted the meticulous preparations underway for the election of a new MP in Constituency 5. The election will take place across 236 polling stations located in Khun Han and Phusing districts, both of which are near the contentious Thai-Cambodian border. The election commissions at both the provincial and constituency levels have been actively planning since the announcement of the vacant seat. The Election Commission boasts a team of skilled personnel, including district subcommittees and polling station committee members, who have undergone rehearsals to effectively handle any unforeseen incidents. Mr. Promchai-anan called on the residents of both districts to participate in the election in large numbers, underscoring the importance of this civic duty to the honor of Sisaket Province.
Mr. Thatri Sirirungwanich, Deputy Governor of Sisaket Province, noted that all sectors are currently finalizing preparations as the voting day approaches, with polling stations open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Residents of Constituency 5, particularly in Phu Sing and Khun Han Districts, are encouraged to vote at their registered polling stations, ensuring they bring identification such as their national ID card. Mr. Sirirungwanich emphasized the importance of voter participation. Despite the proximity to the border, the situation remains calm and conducive for the election. Plans are in place to handle any unexpected events that could affect the election process. The provincial and district election teams are confident in their ability to conduct the election successfully.
