Songkhla: "Sihasak" reveals that efforts to resolve the southern insurgency are being intensified, with intelligence units from all agencies working as a "Team Thailand."
According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkaew, stated after the official Cabinet meeting held outside Bangkok in Songkhla province that he chaired a security workshop discussing the current situation, particularly focusing on the events of August 22nd and 23rd. He emphasized the need to review and strengthen various approaches to resolving the situation in the South in line with immediate circumstances. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of ensuring the safety of lives and property while maintaining public and private confidence. He highlighted the need for integrated work in the area, particularly concerning intelligence gathering and teamwork, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Mr. Sihasak mentioned that another issue discussed involved community outreach. This included reaching the masses, building understanding in the area, cooperation with Malaysia, border security, tracking down those responsible for the incidents, and the peace dialogue process in southern Thailand.
