Nong Bua Lamphu: The alleged shooter, identified as Samart, has been apprehended following a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of three individuals in Sri Bun Rueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province. Samart contacted the police to surrender, admitting his guilt and expressing remorse to the victims' families. He claimed his actions were due to a sudden fit of rage rather than insanity. According to Thai News Agency, a joint press conference was held by the Deputy Governor of Nong Bua Lamphu Province and the Deputy Commander of Provincial Police Region 4 to announce the arrest. Samart surrendered voluntarily and handed over the firearm used in the incident, a Sig Sauer 9 mm. During the confession, he acknowledged acting out of anger and experiencing a momentary lapse of judgment. After the shooting, he fled into the mountains, but overwhelmed by guilt, he decided to turn himself in. Notably, the motorcycle he used was not recovered, as Samart was unable to recall its whereabouts. In response to t he tragedy, Nong Bua Lamphu Province has initiated support and compensation measures for the bereaved families. The Deputy Governor is scheduled to attend an evening prayer service to offer condolences and support to those affected by the loss.
