According to Thai News Agency, the Senate meeting was chaired by General Kriengkrai Srirak, First Deputy Speaker of the Senate. The primary agenda focused on the Royal Decree that authorizes the Ministry of Finance to secure funds. This financial move is aimed at mitigating the effects of the ongoing energy crisis and facilitating a seamless transition in the country's energy framework by the year 2026.
After thorough debate, the Senate's presiding officer initiated a roll call to ensure a quorum, with 175 senators confirming their attendance. As the voting ensued, the decree received 135 votes in favor, while 11 senators opposed it. Additionally, 28 members chose to abstain from the voting process, and 1 senator did not cast a vote.
