Bangkok: SCG has established a "Flood Relief Center to Alleviate Government Burden" at the SCG Cement Plant in Thung Song and the Songkhla Provincial Federation of Thai Industries office. The center aims to ease the burden on the government and provide immediate relief to entrepreneurs in Songkhla Province. The center is also coordinating with government agencies and networks to help southern industries weather the crisis and move forward with strength. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chana Phumi, Assistant Vice President, Sustainability Management, SCG, revealed that the severe flooding in the southern region, particularly in Songkhla Province, has forced over 700 industrial factories to cease operations and caused damages worth over 1.2 billion baht. SCG has established the "Flood Relief Center to Alleviate Government Burdens," mobilizing SCG employees in Nakhon Si Thammarat and Songkhla provinces to work with the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Industrial Council, the Songkhla Provincial Industrial Coun cil, and other networks in the southern region. A hotline of 092-932-0070 has been established to handle urgent requests for assistance to ease the burden on the government and alleviate the suffering of industrial entrepreneurs. In addition, the SCG Foundation has partnered with its network in the South to deliver lunch boxes, relief bags, and drinking water to disaster victims in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Yala, and Songkhla provinces, totaling 250,000 baht. The foundation also acts as a bridge of merit, inviting donations to help those affected by the southern disaster.
