Moscow: Russia is currently evaluating a proposal from a peace committee, following comments from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin's potential participation in this initiative aimed at resolving global conflicts. Despite Trump's assertion that Putin had accepted the invitation, Putin clarified that the proposal is still under consideration.
According to Thai News Agency, President Putin informed the Russian Security Council that the Foreign Ministry is examining the details of the peace committee proposal and will issue an official response when deemed appropriate. Additionally, Putin shared his thoughts on Trump's interest in Greenland, estimating its value based on historical precedent. He noted that this estimation is derived from the 1867 purchase of Alaska by the Russian Empire for $7.2 million, suggesting Greenland's value could range from $200-250 million.
Moreover, Putin speculated that if adjusted for the gold price at the time, Greenland's value might be higher, potentially nearing one billion dollars. He expressed confidence that the United States possesses the financial capability to manage such a valuation.
