According to Thai News Agency, Police Major General Siriwat Deepo, Deputy Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Police, discussed measures aimed at protecting foreign tourists. He reiterated that while Thailand is open to tourists of all nationalities, adherence to Thai law is mandatory. Law enforcement will be strict against any breaches.
Operations targeting "nominee" groups are underway. Police General Samran Nuanma, Deputy National Police Chief and Director of the Center for Combating Transnational Crime and Illegal Immigration, has been actively conducting on-site operations. Assets and lands held by these nominees are being seized, assuring the public of rigorous actions being undertaken.
Regarding Mr. Sondhi Limthongkul's group's gatherings, these must comply with the Public Assembly Act. The police have implemented measures to manage areas of assembly and are prepared to take legal action against any violations.
When questioned about the "Chabad" establishment in the Sukhumvit area, Pol. Maj. Gen. Siriwat acknowledged that the issue is sensitive. The Royal Thai Police have preemptive measures in place and will coordinate inspections to assess activities for potential security threats. Despite being private property, cooperation for inspections is sought to ensure legality.
