The crucial meeting will deliberate on the names before they are submitted for consideration to the National Police Commission meeting tomorrow, November 20. According to Thai News Agency, today's meeting involves the committee tasked with examining the qualifications and suitability of candidates for high-ranking positions within the Royal Thai Police. The focus is on appointments to the Deputy Commissioner General and Inspector General roles, as mandated by the National Police Act of 2022. Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet, the Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police, chairs the committee. Originally scheduled for 1:00 p.m., the meeting has been postponed to 7:00 p.m. For Deputy Commissioner General and Assistant Commissioner General positions, seniority plays a crucial role in the appointment process. The Deputy Commissioner General roles will be filled based entirely on sen iority, while the Commissioner General appointments consider seniority and qualifications equally. Currently, there are 4 vacant Deputy Commissioner General positions, 7 Assistant Commissioner General positions, and 14 Commissioner General positions. The candidates for the 4 Deputy Commissioner General positions, listed in order of seniority, are Pol. Lt. Gen. Prachuap Wongsuk, Pol. Lt. Gen. Nirandorn Leumsri, Pol. Lt. Gen. Krachai Klaiklueng, and Pol. Lt. Gen. Thatchai Pitaneelabut. Similarly, the 7 Assistant Commissioner General roles will consider seniority, with candidates including Pol. Lt. Gen.
