Bangkok: The Royal Thai Navy recently conducted a 15-day Panrasamvara merit-making ceremony to honor the memory of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. Admiral Pairoj Fuangchan, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy, and Mrs. Ariya Fuangchan, President of the Royal Thai Navy Wives Association, led the ceremony. Senior commanders, their spouses, and heads of Royal Thai Navy units from Bangkok and nearby provinces participated in the event. The ceremony involved alms-giving to 93 monks and novices at the Tasanaphirom Plaza, Royal Thai Navy Auditorium, along with Buddhist chanting and a merit-making ceremony in the Chao Phraya Room at the Royal Thai Navy Auditorium.
According to Thai News Agency, on October 28, 2025, the Cabinet approved organizing merit-making ceremonies and condolences on the seventh, fifteenth, fiftieth, and 100th anniversaries of the Queen Mother's passing. The Cabinet also coordinated activities to unify loyalty and offer merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, encouraging public participation in these ceremonies both domestically and abroad.
Throughout her over 70-year tenure, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit has been recognized for her dedication and wisdom in serving the Thai people and ensuring national stability. Her numerous royal duties and developed projects have significantly benefited the nation. Her Majesty has shown particular concern for soldiers, visiting Marine bases to boost morale and provide essential goods, and assisting the families of fallen soldiers. Additionally, she has presided over launching ceremonies for various Royal Thai Navy vessels, including HTMS Chakri Naruebet, and has conducted sea tours to visit people on various islands. Her compassion and dedication have left a lasting imprint on the hearts of the Thai people and the navy.
