Udon thani: Rescue workers in Udon Thani province took on the role of exorcists to persuade a woman with mental illness, who claimed to be possessed by a ghost, to return to a hospital. The rescuers employed unconventional methods, including threats, to calm the patient.
According to Thai News Agency, Sergeant Ekapan Laikhing, known as "Kie 100 Corpses," led the effort to calm the 19-year-old woman. The patient had escaped from the Nong Han Mini-Thanyarak Center at Nong Han Hospital and was threatening to commit suicide. Sergeant Ekapan and his team located her near a pond and engaged in a dialogue where she claimed possession by multiple spirits, insisting on a visit to the temple to expel them.
Sergeant Ekapan complied with her request and took her to light incense in front of a Buddha statue at the rescue center. During the interaction, he used a mix of soothing and threatening tactics, ultimately calming her enough to return her to the hospital for treatment.
The head of the Nong Han Mini-Thanyarak Rescue Unit credited their effective communication to decades of experience within the community. They have developed a rapport with young people, especially those struggling with drug addiction, facilitating trust and understanding. He expressed optimism for the recovery of these individuals, hoping they would reintegrate successfully into society.
