According to Thai News Agency, Wang Sathiang Rapids offers a unique and natural beauty, especially during the lush rainy season. Tourists who enjoy hiking can leisurely walk through nature until they reach "Wang Sathiang Rapids," located 15 kilometers from the Soeng Sang district. There are two ways to visit: on foot or by boat. If you choose to take a boat, you must go to the pier at Hat Chom Thawan and take a boat across the Lam Plai Mat Dam reservoir for 40 minutes and 800 baht (for 10 people). You will enjoy the scenery along the banks of the Lam Plai Mat Dam reservoir throughout the journey, see various bird species foraging in the area, and observe the lifestyle of the local people fishing in the reservoir.
Alternatively, if you prefer to hike, you must drive and park at the Ban Dan Lakor Buddhist monastery in Soeng Sang subdistrict, Soeng Sang district. From there, it's a 2-kilometer walk (approximately 30 minutes) to the rapids, and then hike another 300 meters into the Thap Lan National Park to reach Wang Sathiang Rapids. Hiking through the forest is more popular with tourists who enjoy the natural beauty of Thap Lan National Park, although the journey involves some steep uphill and downhill sections. It's also particularly beautiful during the butterfly season, where tourists can see butterflies along the forest trail.
Upon reaching Wang Satien Rapids, visitors will find a clear stream that flows year-round. During the rainy season, the water level is higher than usual, cascading over the various rocks. If tourists walk towards the downstream area where the stream flows into the Lam Plai Mat Reservoir, they will discover the beauty of nature through a wide open area with grasslands. Tourists who visit this place often say it resembles Khao Chong Lom in Nakhon Nayok Province. Wang Satien Rapids is open to visitors daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
