Kim Jong-un Unveils New Destroyer as Part of Nuclear Countermeasures System

Wonsan: North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong-un received a new destroyer, revealing it will be part of a nuclear weapons response system. During a handover ceremony for a destroyer in Wonsan, an eastern port city, yesterday, North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong-un said the newest destroyer would be part of a nuclear countermeasures system. The state-run KCNA also reported that Kim said sending the new ship to the sea east of the Korean Peninsula was a clear signal to North Korea's enemies.

According to Thai News Agency, the destroyer "Kangkon" is the second warship to be deployed off North Korea's west coast, following the destroyer "Cohyeon" about three months ago. Kim Jong-un has designated the Kangkon as part of a nuclear countermeasures system, but has not specified whether it will be equipped with nuclear weapons.
