Bangkok: The Office of the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister held a ceremony to commemorate its 66th anniversary, with Somdej Thongchai presiding over the religious aspects of the event. Ms. Yupapha Thawiwattanakitbaworn, Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, led the ceremony at the Santi Maitri Building, Government House, aiming to bring good fortune, boost morale, and foster unity among the personnel.
According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony began with the chanting of Buddhist prayers by ten high-ranking monks, including Somdej Phra Maharatchamongkol Muni "Somdej Thongchai," a Supreme Patriarch of the Maha Nikaya sect and Assistant Abbot of Wat Traimit Witthayaram Worawihan. The religious ceremony was intended to bring blessings to the organization and its personnel.
Following the religious proceedings, the Permanent Secretary presented plaques of appreciation to organizations supporting the operations of the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office. Gratitude was expressed to all organizations and network partners for their contributions to government missions. Monetary awards were given to outstanding civil servants, and certificates were awarded to "Good, Talented, and Brave Personnel of the Prime Minister's Office." Scholarships were also granted to the children of civil servants to promote educational opportunities and boost morale for their families.
Additionally, during the Songkran festival, the Permanent Secretary led a group of executives and civil servants in traditional activities such as pouring water over Buddha statues and offering blessings to executives and former executives. This was done to preserve Thai cultural traditions and strengthen relationships within the organization.
On this occasion, Mr. Sommai Suwanwong, Acting President and CEO of MCOT Public Company Limited, and Mr. Suwit Trapamahaudom, Assistant President and CEO of the Radio Broadcasting Division, joined in congratulating MCOT on its 66th anniversary.
