Bangkok: The Prime Minister has invited the "Replica of Narasingh" to be placed for worship on the balcony of the Thai Khu Fa building. Prime Minister Nu Saimu personally carried the replica of the "Nara Singha" statue, a piece constructed during the tenure of former Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, and placed it for veneration on the balcony of the Thai Khu Fa building.
According to Thai News Agency, at 12:09 PM on September 26th, officials from the Government House Vehicle and Security Division transported the "Replica of Narasingh" statue using a black Mercedes-Benz van with the Bangkok license plate 1NCH 4268. The statue, previously enshrined in the Sang Athit Building, was relocated to the second-floor balcony of the Thai Khu Fa Building. This move mirrored the practice during the government of former Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha. The relocation took place under overcast skies, and prior to the move, a Brahmin and other officials had inspected the auspicious time and arrangement, following the suggestion of Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Anutin Charnvirakul to restore the "Replica of Narasingh" statue to its original position.
At 12:49 PM, the Prime Minister changed from his suit into a white shirt, carried the "Replica of Narasingh," and placed it on its original base positioned close to the wall, facing east towards Ban Phitsanulok. He hung a garland, paid homage, and took a photograph with his wife, Ms. Thananon Niramis.
The Narasingh replica was created during the time of Privy Councilor General Prayut Chan-o-cha's tenure as Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. A foundry was commissioned to create the replica, which was first presented to the public for veneration in early 2021. In Brahmin legend, Narasingh is known as an incarnation of Narayana, who descended to defeat demons. Narasingh is depicted with the head of a lion and the body of a human, symbolizing immortality. Historically, before Thai Khu Fa Building became the Prime Minister's office, "Narasingh" was positioned alongside Chao Phraya Ramrakhop's house, now the Thai Khu Fa Building. General Prayut ordered the creation of the "Narasingh replica" to honor this history.
Ban Narasingh, or the current Government House, was originally owned by the Phuengbun Na Ayutthaya family. King Rama VI had ordered the construction of the house, which was then given to Phraya Prasit Suphakan, later Chao Phraya Ramrakhop, who commanded the Department of Entertainment with "Narasingh" as its emblem.
