Ayutthaya: The Prime Minister stated that all agencies are doing their utmost in the operation to cut the cards in Ayutthaya. The Prime Minister emphasized that all agencies are performing their duties to the fullest extent after launching an operation to cut off identification cards in the old capital, leading to the arrest of a district chief in Ayutthaya in connection with a citizenship bribery scandal.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul provided details about the operation “Ayutthaya ID Card Cutting,” which was initiated by the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA NICE) in collaboration with five other agencies. The operation took place at the Wang Noi District Office in Ayutthaya Province and successfully resulted in the arrest of numerous corrupt government officials involved in fraudulent registration activities. The Prime Minister noted that the operation led to many arrests, including those related to the illicit granting of citizenship, echoing a previous incident in Chiang Rai Province, and has now reoccurred in Ayutthaya Province.
The Prime Minister reiterated that officials have done everything possible in cooperation with various agencies, including the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), the Department of Provincial Administration, and the Ministry of Interior, as each incident involved government officials.
