Prasert Admits Investigation of Office of the Consumer Protection Board Requires Extension of Time.

Bangkok: Prasert, Minister of Digital Economy, has acknowledged that the investigation concerning Thewada of the Office of the Consumer Protection Board requires more time for completion as further connections are continually being discovered. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Prasert Chantaruangthong, who serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society, provided an update on the ongoing investigation into the activities of the Consumer Protection Board (CPB) relating to online businesses. This update follows the establishment of a fact-finding committee tasked with examining the CPB's performance in this domain. As part of the investigation, six external individuals and 11 internal individuals have been summoned for questioning, and the process is currently ongoing. Mr. Prasert elaborated that the investigation timeline might need to be extended due to the continuous discovery of new connections. While he mentioned that no major obstructions have been encountered so far, he em phasized that the investigation is not hindered by potential snags. The focus remains on gathering more information and addressing related matters that come to light as the investigation progresses.
