Police General Hospital Joins 2024 Campaign Against Violence, Receives Honor.

Bangkok: Police General Hospital has officially joined a significant campaign aimed at ending violence against children, women, and family members, receiving a certificate of honor for its support. This initiative is part of a larger movement organized by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. The campaign was inaugurated by Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, the Minister of Social Development and Human Security, who led a parade from the assembly area to the front of the grandstand on the LG floor of Siam Square One, covering a distance of 250 meters. The event saw the participation of over 500 individuals, including personnel from the Help Center and the Police General Hospital's psychologist team. According to Thai News Agency, the campaign also featured a ceremony to present plaques of honor to 19 personnel and agencies that have supported activities to end violence against vulnerable groups. Certificates were also awarded to those who have consistently backed these efforts. Pol. Lt. Gen. Taweesin Wetchavitarn, Chief Medical Officer, delegated Pol. Col. Sirikun Srisongsa, the spokesperson for the Police General Hospital, and Pol. Col. Phanchat Udomphansa, the Deputy Spokesperson, to receive these honors and partake in the event. Additionally, Pol. Lt. Gen. Taweesin Wechawitan has tasked the Police General Hospital's repatriation center and ambulances with providing health care support to participants of the campaign. Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa expressed gratitude towards the Police General Hospital and other agencies for their role in the campaign, emphasizing that the collective efforts have contributed to reducing violence in the nation. Pol. Col. Sirikul Srisongsa highlighted the serious issue of bullying, urging the public to recognize its impact on mental health. Bullying can lead to severe psychological consequences, potentially resulting in mental illnesses and aggressive behavior. The spokesperson called for mindfulness and proactive measures to address bullying, encouraging people to support vi ctims and those exhibiting bullying behavior, as they may also be experiencing mental health challenges.
