According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pita discussed the draft bill on amnesty, which failed to be addressed in the current session. He expressed his worries regarding the promises made by the government to the people, highlighting the significance of amending the constitution through a referendum and implementing political amnesty. He noted that all political parties are cautious about including offenses under Section 112 of the Criminal Code in the discussions. Mr. Pita emphasized the ongoing uncertainty in Thai politics, compounded by the recent change in the Senate and the appointment of a new president. He voiced his concern over the rights of individuals being compromised due to political disagreements. Mr. Pita remarked on the apparent disconnection betw een politicians and the populace, pointing out inconsistencies between public statements and actions by those in power. When questioned about potential solutions, Mr. Pita suggested that a strong public will could lead to a resolution. He criticized the current political dynamics, where party loyalty and internal politics seem to overshadow public interest, resulting in a lack of transparency and direction.
