Bangkok: The Phuket governor has issued a directive to the Patong Municipality to halt operations at the basil clinic building. The governor participated in a video conference with the Ministry of Interior to update them on the ongoing investigation concerning the Patong Bar. It was announced that the building has been ordered to close.
According to Thai News Agency, the video conference took place at the Phuket Provincial Hall, where the governor briefed the Ministry of Interior on the progress of the investigation into the Patong Sabbath. This investigation has unveiled that the Sabbath was set up as a company with three Israeli directors or shareholders. Among these individuals, two have successfully acquired Thai citizenship. Further details from the investigation revealed that while a construction permit had been granted for a five-story building, unauthorized modifications and expansions were identified.
Recently, the provincial authorities in Phuket instructed the Patong Municipality to suspend usage of the basil clinic building and mandated the clinic to dismantle all unauthorized extensions. This decision underscores the emphasis on compliance with construction regulations in the region.
The Phuket Governor also shared that a broader investigation is being conducted. Preliminary findings suggest the presence of a significant branch in Bang Tao, located in Choeng Thale Subdistrict, Thalang District. This branch is reportedly involved in property, real estate, and tourism-related ventures, boasting a total asset value that surpasses 200 million baht.
