Chiang mai: Officials continue to mobilize to install power poles and repair houses damaged by a drinking water delivery truck that lost control on a curve and crashed into 52 power poles, knocking them down.
According to Thai News Agency, volunteer soldiers from the 7th Infantry Division, villagers, and Chang Phueak Subdistrict Municipality officials helped demolish buildings, roof structures, and inside shops and houses damaged by the accident. The incident resulted in damage to 26 houses, prompting an urgent response to restore normalcy.
In a gesture of gratitude, villagers prepared meals for the volunteers and hurriedly cleaned their houses to resume normal trading as soon as possible. The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) is actively involved in the recovery efforts, deploying machinery, cranes, aerial platforms, and hundreds of personnel to install equipment on the 115-kilovolt power poles.
All downed poles have been replaced, and it is expected that all necessary equipment will be installed today. The power lines are anticipated to be fully operational by September 17th, restoring electricity supply to the affected areas.
