Nonthaburi:Drunk police officers became involved in a brawl and assaulted each other at a karaoke bar in the Muang Thong Thani area. The Nonthaburi Provincial Police Commander has consequently ordered the transfer of a police sergeant from Pak Kret Police Station, who was involved in the incident, and a disciplinary committee has been formed to investigate the serious misconduct.

According to Thai News Agency, a video clip captured the altercation, showing officers assaulting each other, which left one officer unconscious. The incident took place on the night of October 31st. Following the event, a meeting was held at Pak Kret Police Station by the Nonthaburi Provincial Police Commander and the Pak Kret Police Station Chief to discuss the situation. They confirmed that Police Sergeant Sathaporn, a patrol officer at Pak Kret Police Station, was identified as the perpetrator based on video evidence.

Further investigation revealed that at 1100 PM, Police Sergeant Thanawat, a commando officer, visited the karaoke bar for dinner and music. Police Corporal Sathaporn and his friends, who appeared intoxicated, joined him. Despite introductions as fellow officers, Sergeant Sathaporn later assaulted Sergeant Thanawat, provoking him with the taunt, "Are you a commando?" The assault continued with Sergeant Sathaporn and his friend physically attacking Sergeant Thanawat, resulting in injuries including ruptured blood vessels in his right eye and a significant bleeding wound from his mouth.

The seriousness of the injury will be determined by the medical report, which, if expedited, could lead to the case being swiftly transferred to court. Meanwhile, the sergeant remains on duty at the Nonthaburi Provincial Police Operations Center.

A spokesperson for the Royal Thai Police emphasized that the police force maintains strict adherence to the discipline and conduct of its officers. Any officer found violating the law or engaging in misconduct will face disciplinary and criminal actions without leniency, aiming to uphold public trust and preserve the organization's image.
