Hat yai: The NBTC office is stationed in Hat Yai, aiming to restore Hat Yai Hospital's communications system to 100%. Mr. Trirat Wiriyasirikul, Deputy Secretary-General and Acting Secretary-General of the NBTC, revealed that the NBTC office has reported to the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Armed Forces that the NBTC office has coordinated support for expanding mobile phone signal coverage to flood-affected areas 1-4 in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. The NBTC has collaborated with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and mobile phone service providers to repair signal towers that are unable to provide service due to power outages. Today, they inspected routes to restore power to the faulty signal towers and ensure normal operation.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Trirat said that the signal currently covers Songkhla Province, particularly Hat Yai District, where 60% of the area is now open for service. In addition, today's key goal is to ensure 100% operational signaling in the Hat Yai Hospital area, District 8, and surrounding areas within Hat Yai.
The NBTC has also requested the installation of the Thaicom satellite at Hat Yai Hospital today to ensure that medical staff, nurses, and the public can use the service conveniently as quickly as possible.
The NBTC has implemented relief measures for flood victims, which include free 10 GB internet and 100 minutes of free calls for 15 days, starting on November 28, 2025. The system will send an SMS confirming rights, allowing immediate use without needing to press to accept the rights. Additionally, for prepaid customers, the usage period is extended for another 30 days.
