The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy has committed to minimizing the impact on the public and assisting with recovery efforts as water levels recede.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Prasert Sinsukprasert, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Commander of the Energy Emergency Situation Monitoring Center, addressed the oil and LPG shortages in the affected provinces. The disruption of key transportation routes and ongoing internet connectivity issues have hindered normal oil transport. In response, the Ministry of Energy has coordinated with the Department of Energy Business, provincial energy officials, and local oil operators to modify transportation methods and routes.
The Ministry reports promising progress in fuel transport to the lower southern region. Some shipments were expedited last night, with preparations underway to ensure adequate oil and LPG supplies. This effort aligns with the Minister of Energy's policy of prioritizing energy management during crises to maintain people's livelihoods and support local disaster relief operations.
Mr. Prasert emphasized the Ministry's active coordination with stakeholders and oil operators to address transportation challenges swiftly.
