Ministry of Defense Coordinates Repatriation of Over 600 Thai Citizens

Bangkok: The Ministry of Defense is coordinating the repatriation of over 600 Thai citizens, emphasizing thorough background checks and careful consideration of security measures.

According to Thai News Agency, Rear Admiral Surasan Kongsiri, spokesman for the Ministry of Defence, revealed the progress in bringing 635 Thai citizens back to the country. He stated that they are coordinating closely with the Immigration Bureau and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate their return. He also added that they will promptly coordinate and inform the media as soon as there is any progress.

All Thai citizens will undergo a thorough background check. Officials will verify individual information to determine the source of their departure from the country. Initial checks have revealed that some have criminal records, and further legal action will be taken.

Regarding additional security measures, including equipment support for personnel, the spokesperson stated that these are currently under detailed consideration, taking into account the urgency of the mission and the military's capabilities in carrying out the operation.
