Minister Jiraporn Sindhuphrai Orders Investigation into False Audio Clip Claiming Her Name.

Bangkok: Jiraporn Sindhuphrai confirmed she did not know the female complainant who falsely claimed to be part of her working group. She has coordinated with the legal department to urgently examine the audio clip to file a complaint. According to Thai News Agency, the audio clip involved a female complainant conversing with Mr. Waratphon Woratworakul, owner of The Icon Group, claiming to be associated with Ms. Jiraporn, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office overseeing the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB). It falsely suggested she gave authority to the complainant for a meeting about direct sales business in exchange for a salary to be given to the minister's father. Ms. Jiraporn, speaking in Udon Thani Province, clarified that she never authorized the individual as a working group member or allowed any coordination directly or indirectly. She emphasized that any claims benefiting her father were untrue and asserted her straightforward conduct. She stated that she never had a poli cy permitting bribes or personal benefits and regarded the claims as entirely false. She has tasked the legal department to verify the audio clip's authenticity and collect information for a complaint if her reputation was misused. Ms. Jiraporn expressed her willingness to assist the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) with any useful information regarding the incident. She acknowledged the suspect's potential involvement in a major case concerning The Icon, which is under judicial proceedings. She assured a thorough investigation would ensue, sparing no involved perpetrators. She reiterated her lack of personal acquaintance with the female complainant, denying any communication or work invitations extended to her. She has informed Deputy Prime Minister Prasert Jantararuangthong about the need to appoint a fact-finding committee regarding the issue. An investigation will be conducted due to its relevance to the ongoing matter. Ms. Jiraporn admitted to feeling confused and angry about the situation, acknowledging the potential for false claims due to her position. She underscored the importance of addressing such incidents to protect the reputation and confidence in her work and the agency she oversees, advocating for a thorough investigation and decisive legal action to prevent recurrence.
