MCOT Receives Award for News Reporting from International Media Organizations

Bangkok: MCOT received this award for its news reporting on the issue of the "Thai-Cambodian border conflict," which led to the signing of a joint statement for peace at the ASEAN Summit in Malaysia. The two nations' leaders signed the agreement with world leaders such as US President Donald Trump as witnesses. According to Thai News Agency, Asia Vision extended its sincere congratulations to the International News Department of the Thai News Agency, MCOT Public Company Limited, for producing the news report for broadcast on Asia Vision. Certificates will be presented to MCOT representatives during the News Coordinators' Meeting in January 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Asiavision (AVN) operates the Asiavision News Exchange, a network within the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), the world's largest broadcasting union by demographic and geographic proportions. It covers more than half the world's population, with approximately 224 member organizations from 66 countries, headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, M alaysia. AVN provides a platform for over 30 broadcasters to share news in real time, with over 17,000 news exchanges annually. This gives members, particularly smaller national broadcasters, timely access to international news content. While ABU was established in 1964 as a non-profit, non-governmental, non-political professional association, its primary mission is to assist and promote the development of broadcasting in the Asia-Pacific region.
