Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Thailand's Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, declined to address questions regarding the issue of Sihasak's prisoner of war or the imminent release of Cambodian prisoners of war.
According to Thai News Agency, Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkaew revealed that reports indicate the release of 18 Cambodian prisoners of war is expected to occur on November 12. Sihasak mentioned that security forces are requested to confirm the release, which aligns with Thailand's conditions, such as the movement of heavy weapons to facilitate demining operations. He added that discussions are ongoing regarding the final date, either November 12 or 13.
During an official visit to the Republic of Singapore, reporters at Don Mueang Military Airport 2, Wing 6, sought comments from Anutin about the release, but he did not respond. Meanwhile, Sihasak clarified that there are no additional exchanges related to the release and dismissed any connections to US tariff pressure. He emphasized that the release is in accordance with previously signed documents and unrelated to a US zero-tariff exchange agreement for Thai goods.
