Yarang: Authorities raided a suspected house in Yarang, seizing 2.45 million smuggled cigarettes, three firearms, and 18.7 million baht in cash. According to Thai News Agency, the Forward Command of the Internal Security Operations Command Region 4, particularly the Command for Controlling and Resolving New Forms of Security Threats and Suppressing Subversive Threats in 14 Southern Provinces, in collaboration with relevant agencies such as the police, military, administrative officials, customs, and the Forensic Science Institute of the Ministry of Justice, conducted a search on a suspected house in Tambon Krado, Yarang District, Pattani Province. This operation aligned with the government's policy to prevent and suppress drug trafficking and subversive threats in the southern border provinces.
Mr. Masata, whose surname was withheld, was identified as the homeowner, along with three other individuals who were present during the raid. The initial search resulted in the discovery of approximately 2,452,680 illegal cigarettes, three handguns with ammunition, and approximately 18,759,000 baht in cash. The seized items were subsequently handed over to Yarang Police Station to initiate legal proceedings.
Authorities are expediting investigations to track down all involved parties and the smuggling network to prosecute them fully under the law. They emphasized their dedication to relentlessly combating drug trafficking and all related crimes to ensure security and safety, as well as to diminish illegal activities in the southern border provinces.
