Pathum thani: Police are hunting for a lone gunman who robbed 1.5 million baht from a TMBThanachart Bank branch in Talat Thai. A tense scene unfolded at Talat Thai market when a lone gunman robbed a TB Thanachart branch, making off with over 1.5 million baht in cash. He sped away in a car, later setting it on fire and abandoning it in a patch of grass opposite AIT to destroy evidence. Police are urgently searching for the suspect.
According to Thai News Agency, at 4:00 PM on September 10, 2026, police officers from Khlong Luang Police Station, Pathum Thani Province, received a report of a lone male suspect using a firearm to rob a TB Thanachart Bank branch in Talat Thai, Khlong Nueng Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province. The suspect made off with a total of 1,541,704 baht in cash. Initial investigations revealed that the suspect used a black Toyota Vios sedan with license plate number KhM 8353 Bangkok, which was later found to be a fake license plate, to escape the scene.
Later, Pol. Maj. Gen. Peerapol Chotikasetthian, Commander of the Pathum Thani Provincial Police, along with Pol. Col. Wisanurak Phrommes, Deputy Commander of the Pathum Thani Provincial Police (acting as Superintendent of Khlong Luang Police Station), and patrol and investigative officers, arrived at the scene to inspect. Initial reports indicated that a suspicious sedan had been found set on fire and abandoned in a grassy area opposite the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), before the entrance to Soi Thaweewit, in an attempt to destroy evidence and traces of the crime.
Investigators from Khlong Luang Police Station, in collaboration with investigators from Pathum Thani Provincial Police, are urgently inspecting the crime scene and collecting evidence, including CCTV footage along the escape route, latent fingerprints, and witness statements, in order to apprehend the perpetrator as quickly as possible and bring them to justice.
