King Grants Royal Patronage to Associate Professor Dr. Seree Wongmontha for Medical Treatment

Bangkok: His Majesty the King has accepted Associate Professor Dr. Seree Wongmontha, who is suffering from a brain tumor, as a patient under royal patronage.

According to Thai News Agency, on December 20, 2025, it was reported that Air Chief Marshal Sathitpong Sukvimol, Royal Secretary to His Majesty the King, sent a letter to the Director of Somdej Phra Pinklao Hospital, Royal Thai Navy Medical Department. The letter informed that His Majesty the King had graciously accepted Dr. Seree Wongmontha, age 76, to be admitted as a patient under royal patronage at Somdej Phra Pinklao Hospital, located in the Thonburi District of Bangkok.

Associate Professor Dr. Seree Wongmontha is an independent journalist and former chairman of the National Reform Committee on Mass Communication and Information Technology in General Prayut Chan-o-cha's government. He has made significant contributions in academia, particularly in the study of communication, advertising, and public relations. Dr. Seree is also recognized as a speaker, lecturer, and host, and has occasionally appeared as an actor in films, television dramas, and stage plays.
