JB League U11 Team Clinches Third Place at World Youth Championship 2026

Singapore: The JB League U11 team achieved an impressive third place finish at the World Youth Championship 2026 held in Singapore. The Junior Ballers League (JB League Selection) youth basketball team, representing the U-11 age group, showcased their skills and determination in a competition that featured 145 teams from 14 countries. The event, which took place from August 6-9, 2026, included age groups ranging from U-10 to U-23. According to Thai News Agency, the JB League representatives put on a stellar performance in the first round by securing three consecutive victories. They began with a dominant 58-9 win over GnG from Hong Kong, followed by a 77-15 triumph against ISLA United from the Philippines. They concluded the first round with a 50-23 victory over the host team SBA from Singapore, which ensured their position as Group 1 winners and earned them a spot in the Division 1 semi-finals. In the semi-finals, the JB League team faced a tough challenge from the ACC Jr Dragons of the Philippines. Despit e a close and thrilling match, the Thai team fell short with a 44-57 loss. This result led them to a third-place playoff against another Filipino team, Xavier. The JB League U11 team displayed remarkable teamwork and resilience, narrowly securing a 46-41 victory to claim third place. The success in the third-place match marked a significant achievement for the JB League Selection U11 team, bringing honor back to Thailand. This accomplishment is seen as a valuable experience and a critical step towards developing the potential of Thai youth basketball players to compete at international levels in the future.
