Investigation Results on State Audit Office Building Collapse Expected in June

Bangkok: "Anutin" clearly reiterates that the results of the investigation into the collapse of the State Audit Office building will be known in June. The "DSI" has forwarded the case of collusion in the collapse of the State Audit Office building to the NACC in accordance with the law. He pointed out that the Ministry of Interior only investigated the cause of the collapse. There must be 100% information before it can speak. He revealed that committees from many units have agreed on the same cause of the collapse.

According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul gave an interview about the progress of the investigation into the cause of the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) building collapse, after news broke that the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) would forward the case file of collusion in three contracts (construction, design, supervision) to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). Mr. Anutin stated that in that part, it was a matter of collusion law, but the Ministry of Interior was looking into the cause of the building collapse. Meanwhile, the meeting of the committee set up to investigate had several agendas and was getting closer.

Mr. Anutin emphasized that the matter has an impact on the information provided. We must be 100% sure of what is wrong. Those who come out to speak must be worried because it will affect their image and credibility. In addition, we must wait for scientific and engineering data to be verified. When the data is verified, it must be the same for every unit that is investigated. At present, according to the investigation, I know that the cause of the collapse of the building is the same.

Mr. Anutin concluded that the conclusion should be completed in June because the time frame was set for 3 months. Now the deadline is full.
