Hat yai: The Transport Company of Thailand (BKS) has announced the resumption of normal bus services on two main routes in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, following a decrease in water levels in the area. However, four other routes remain temporarily closed due to ongoing flood conditions.
According to Thai News Agency, BKS reported that the flooding situation in the southern region is beginning to improve, with water levels receding enough to allow buses to access the passenger terminal and operate on two specific routes. The reopened routes are Line 973, which runs from Bangkok to Songkhla, and Line 992, which connects Bangkok to Hat Yai.
Despite these improvements, high floodwaters continue to impact the region, necessitating the temporary closure of four key routes: Line 984 (Bangkok - Trang - Satun), Line 987 (Bangkok - Yala), Line 9917 (Bangkok - Pattani), and Line 9917 (Bangkok - Su-ngai Kolok).
Joint-venture buses, operated by the Transport Company Limited to various southern provinces, have resumed normal operations on approximately 51 routes. However, two specific southern routes serviced by private operators remain suspended. These are Line 987 to Betong, operated by Siam Bus Company Limited, and Line 9914 to Nathawee, managed by the Suthep Tangkokit Piyarungruang Group of Companies.
Affected passengers are advised to contact BKS ticket offices nationwide for ticket refunds. For joint-venture routes, passengers should directly reach out to the respective bus operators for further assistance.
