According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department has forecast cooler weather over the next 24 hours, with cool to cold temperatures and strong winds expected in the upper and lower southern regions of Thailand. Temperatures in the northeastern region will drop slightly, while temperatures in the northern and central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, the eastern region, and the upper southern region will see a 1-2 degree Celsius drop. Residents in these areas are advised to take care of their health due to the colder weather and be aware of the dangers of fires caused by the dry and windy conditions. This is due to a relatively strong high-pressure system or cold air mass from China that has now spread over upper Thailand, the upper southern region, and the upper South China Sea.
In the lower southern region, rain has decreased, but thunderstorms remain in some areas due to the moderate northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea. Waves in the Gulf of Thailand are moderate, with waves approximately 2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves are higher than 2 meters. Mariners in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are advised to proceed with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
Furthermore, the powerful tropical storm "KOTO" in the central South China Sea is expected to move closer to the coast of Vietnam between November 30 and December 2, 2025, while a high-pressure area or cold air mass covers Vietnam and the upper South China Sea, causing this storm to weaken rapidly. This storm will not move into Thailand.
The regional weather forecast for November 28, 2025, indicates that Bangkok and surrounding areas will experience cool weather with strong winds, with temperatures dropping another 1-2 degrees Celsius. The northern region will see cold weather with temperatures dropping 1-2 degrees Celsius, and mountain tops experiencing frost. The northeastern region will have cold weather, with mountaintops experiencing very cold conditions. The central and eastern regions are also expected to have cool to cold weather with a slight temperature drop. The southern region's east coast will continue to experience thunderstorms in some areas, particularly in Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat provinces.
