GSB Unveils Special Promotions for Ministry of Finance’s 150th Anniversary


Bangkok: GSB is organizing a big promotion to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Ministry of Finance with a 150-day deposit offering a special interest rate of 2.55% per year, alongside the ‘Save 100, Win 100 Million’ Government Savings Bank lottery at the ‘MOF JOURNEY’ event from May 1-3 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.



According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Vitai Ratanakorn, President of the Government Savings Bank, announced that the bank is set to be part of the historic MOF Journey: 150 Years of Thai Fiscal Paths, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Ministry of Finance. The bank is offering a special deposit promotion exclusive to the event, which includes a 150-day call deposit with an average step-up interest rate of 2.55% per year, equivalent to a fixed deposit of 3.00% per year. This offer is limited to 150 rights per day, with one right per person.



The event features the campaign “Save 100, Win 100 Million,” where participants can deposit special GS Savings Bonds for one year for a chance to win prizes totaling 100 million baht. Prizes include a 1 million baht draw on May 16, 2025, with 30 prizes, and a 70 million baht grand prize draw on July 16, 2025. Participants must deposit bonds starting at 100 baht or more between April 1 and July 15, 2025. Alternatively, participants can opt for two-year special GS Savings Bonds or digital bonds and receive souvenirs.



Additionally, the Smart Junior deposit scheme is available for children and youths aged 7-23 years. It offers a starting interest rate of 0.50% per year, with a maximum interest rate of 2.10% per year, contingent on the deposit balance increasing monthly. The scheme runs for 30 months, with special interest rates applied throughout the period. New account holders receive a GSB Love Earth collection piggy bank and can participate in special activities at the event booth.



The 150th anniversary celebration incorporates the theme ‘Past-Present-Future,’ allowing visitors to explore the progression of Thailand’s financial sector and its impact on national development. The event aims to demonstrate the power of unity, innovation in public service, and social responsibility within affiliated agencies. Visitors are invited to explore financial services and innovations from the Government Savings Bank and other participating agencies during the event at Hall 3-4, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
