Governor Chatchart Discusses Flooding Solutions with Expert

Bangkok:Governor Chatchart Sittipunt held a meeting with Professor Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat, former Rector of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, to address the ongoing flood issues in the Lat Krabang and Rom Klao districts. The discussions focused on the problems of stagnant and polluted water affecting these areas.

According to Thai News Agency, Professor Dr. Suchatvee aimed to share insights and information from the affected regions with the Bangkok Governor and relevant officials. He highlighted the concerning situation around Lat Krabang Hospital, the Hua Takhe area, and extending to Luang Phaeng. The area surrounding King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, serving as a public shelter, is also impacted by water spreading through various branch canals.

Dr. Suchatvee stressed the need for urgent water management, including improving drainage and coordinating with the Royal Irrigation Department, as the eastern water system connects to regions outside Bangkok. The high and stagnant water levels pose a risk of pollution, affecting residents' quality of life.

Governor Chatchart expressed his appreciation for the exchange of information with Dr. Suchatvee, an engineering and tunnel systems expert and a direct victim of the Lat Krabang disaster. Insights gained from this collaboration are intended to aid in formulating effective solutions. Immediate focus is required on the eastern side of Lat Krabang, which has a significant impact on many people.

Efforts are underway to incorporate data from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's water management team and the affected areas, aiming to resolve the flooding issues swiftly and reduce public impact.
