Bangkok: The government is injecting 40 million baht into private schools in the southern border provinces to urgently care for over 30,000 students and teachers.
According to Thai News Agency, the government, through the Ministry of Education, is accelerating assistance to private schools in the southern border provinces with the aim to provide financial support before the end of the 2026 fiscal year. Lieutenant Colonel Patthadarasmi Thongsalooykorn, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the funds will support over 30,000 students and affected individuals in these regions.
Captain Patthadarasmi explained that the initiative is designed to expedite financial support to private schools in need, alleviating the burden of educational management and ensuring continuity of education for students. The measure also aims to enhance liquidity and operational stability of educational institutions in the area, focusing on easing financial burdens on schools and maintaining the continuity of teaching and learning.
In addition to financial support, the government is considering proposals to expand reimbursement rights for medical expenses and access to medical facilities for education personnel in private schools. This effort aims to strengthen health insurance, reduce financial burdens, and boost morale among education staff. The government will review these proposals according to established procedures.
Captain Patthadarasmi emphasized that these measures are intended to support students and personnel directly affected by the situation in the southern border provinces, while also working towards improving the overall welfare of private school teachers to enhance stability and quality in the private education system nationwide.
