Bangkok: A fire erupted in a 4-story, 3-unit commercial building located in Siam Square Soi 3, which houses a Japanese restaurant and a spa equipment store. Firefighters from Banthat Thong and Bon Kai swiftly responded, deploying water trucks to extinguish the blaze. It took approximately half an hour to bring the situation under control, with continued efforts to spray water in order to vent smoke and reduce the heat.
According to Thai News Agency, the fire originated on the fourth floor, which served as a storage area for plastic items, wooden chopsticks, piles of cloth, and other flammable materials, providing fuel for the flames. No injuries were reported in the incident. Mr. Itthiphon Inprasarn, Director of Pathumwan District, confirmed that the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Forensic Science Department.
In the meantime, the Civil Engineering Department is set to conduct a thorough inspection of the building. Should the building be deemed unsafe, an order will be issued to suspend its use, ensuring the safety of the surrounding area and its occupants.
