Election Commission of Thailand Initiates Five-Session Training for Political Party Quality Enhancement

Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has launched the "Quality Political Party Training Course 2026," which will be conducted over five sessions between May and July. The initiative aims to train individuals who will further disseminate the acquired knowledge across the nation.

According to Thai News Agency, the ECT is organizing this trainer training program through the Political Party Development Fund. The first session started on May 5, 2026, at the Peony Room, TK Palace and Convention Hotel in Laksi District, Bangkok, with Mr. Kriengkrai Pandokmai, Deputy Secretary-General of the Election Commission, presiding over the opening.

The program will include five sessions, each spanning four consecutive days, designed to enhance the skills of trainers for effective local-level knowledge dissemination. The scheduled sessions are as follows: Batch 1 from May 5-8, Session 2 from May 26-29, the Third session from June 16-19, Batch 4 from June 23-26, and Batch 5 from July 7-10.

Participants in the training include personnel from political parties, branch chairpersons, committee members, provincial representatives, staff from Election Commission offices, and members from the Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education and Sub-district Democracy Development Centers. These participants are pivotal in spreading knowledge to the local public.

The trained individuals will serve as instructors to deliver the 'Quality Political Party Training Course' to target groups such as party branch committee members, political party members, and the general public. The course focuses on building an understanding of the democratic system with the King as head of state and aims to strengthen political parties at the grassroots level, enhancing standards and public trust.

The 2026 curriculum has been updated with modern, relevant content and activities to ensure trainees can effectively apply and disseminate information locally, in line with the Election Commission's guidelines.

Mr. Kriengkrai Pandokmai emphasized the importance of trainer development in achieving tangible curriculum results. He expressed confidence in the trainees' ability to enhance their understanding of democracy and contribute to the development of high-quality Thai political parties that earn public trust and emerge as strong political institutions in the country.
