Bangkok: "Dr. Kes" hopes that next week the Election Commission will postpone the consideration of qualifications, while "Somchai Lenglak" does not have to hope for a resolution to send it to the Constitutional Court to order the dismissal of the Senator position due to knowledge of vote buying in the 2023 election. According to Thai News Agency, the reporter reported that the EC meeting has not yet considered the report on the results of the examination of the qualifications of Dr. Kesakamon Pliansamai, a member of the Senate, which the EC office has proposed. This is because today's agenda for the EC's consideration has many matters that the EC must complete in time according to the time limit set by law, such as the decision on the eligibility of candidates for executives or members of local councils, the preparation of a statement to submit to the court, and the approval of the budget for the Political Party Development Fund. Furthermore, these matters are on the last agenda, so the EC has ordered them to be considered in the meeting next week. Meanwhile, it was reported that the EC recently resolved to submit the case to the Constitutional Court to rule on the termination of Mr. Somchai Lenglak's senator status according to Article 82, paragraph four of the constitution, after the Supreme Court ruled as proposed by the EC, namely to revoke his voting rights for 10 years because in the 2023 election, Mr. Somchai, who was a candidate for the Songkhla Constituency 9 MP for the Bhumjaithai Party, was aware of and supported the distribution of money to eligible voters in order to intentionally vote for him. Therefore, the EC found that Mr. Somchai is a person who is prohibited from holding the position of senator. Currently, the EC is in the process of preparing the ruling and drafting the petition before submitting it to the Constitutional Court.
