Ekniti Secures Over 7 Billion Baht Investment from Chinese Firms

Bangkok: Ekniti is advancing initiatives to draw significant investments from Chinese private sector companies into Thailand, totaling over 7 billion baht. Dr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, recently engaged with key executives from notable Chinese firms who have shown interest in expanding their operations in Thailand.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Ekniti held discussions with Mr. Xinping Shan, Chairman of Hangzhou Seenpin Electromechanical Transmission; Mr. Lichen Zheng, Chairman and CEO of Zhejian Jinwo; and Mr. Feng Zhang, Chairman of Zhejiang XCC Group. These companies, recognized for their production of high-precision metal components for the robotics industry, are exploring investment opportunities in Thailand with a cumulative investment value exceeding 7 billion baht.

Furthermore, Dr. Ekniti conducted a meeting with Mr. Zhu Gongshan, Chairman of GCL Group (Kunshan GCL), a prominent energy firm in China. Their discussions focused on clean energy projects, particularly the deployment of Photovoltaic Perovskite technology, which offers superior efficiency in converting sunlight into electricity compared to existing technologies. They also deliberated on Thailand's capability to become a production base and a hub for the ASEAN region.
