Bangkok: Ekkapop Pienpises chose the auspicious time of 9:09 AM to enter Government House and begin his first day as Government Spokesperson. The government spokesperson, observing this symbolic start, paid respects to the sacred objects at Government House before officially assuming his duties.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ekkapop Pienpises, the newly appointed Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, commenced his role by offering flower garlands and other offerings to the shrine of the guardian spirits, the shrine of the ancestral spirits, and the shrine of the grandmother spirits at Government House. This ceremony was held to seek blessings as he officially took on his responsibilities. Mr. Ekkapop expressed his commitment to diligently working without interruption, emphasizing that he has outlined his work plan and intends to address pressing issues facing the world, the country, and the people as swiftly as possible.
Mr. Ekkapop also addressed the political dimension, particularly regarding demonstrations, asserting that protesting is a legitimate right of the people as long as it is conducted in good faith and within the framework of the law. He emphasized the importance of listening over speaking, stating that the government spokesperson team aims to be attentive to the opinions of all parties, including suggestions, frustrations, and misunderstandings, to provide accurate information and lead to beneficial solutions.
"If there are any issues you'd like us to discuss, information you'd like us to provide, or any matters you'd like us to pursue, the spokesperson team is ready and happy to take action," Mr. Ekkapop said.
